I have had extensive interaction with the Rivne Oblast Administration over a period of several years in my capacity as President of an international company which has operations in Ukraine. As a result of this experience I have had the opportunity to develop an informed opinion concerning the regional government authorities. I have to say that the experience our group has had with the Rivne Oblast Administration and agencies associated with the regional government has been extremely positive. The Rivne government authorities have been very supportive in helping our group to realize its investment projects in a trouble-free manner. Our company has manufacturing facilities in five Eastern European countries and we have not received the type of strong support in other countries that we have received in Rivne. It is very clear to me that the Rivne Oblast Administration sincerely welcomes FDI in its region and is prepared to take active steps to help good projects come to life.
In addition to the above, I think that it is important for prospective investors to understand that the Rivne region offers a number of significant advantages. These include: (1) a truly strategic geographic location very close to the border with the European Union, (2) excellent transportation logistics as Rivne is located at the crossroads of the principal road and rail transport corridors, (3) a very competitive and motivated workforce, and (4) government authorities that are very receptive to FDI and willing to provide investors with maximum support. I believe that these factors, among others, make Rivne region a prime destination for companies undertaking projects in a broad range of different sectors.
