Food industry is mainly based on the raw material base located in the region. The most developed branches are dairy processing,meat processing, flour-and-cereals industry, baking industry, confectionary, and fruit-and-vegetable processing.

Upon results of first three quarters of 2018 the enterprises of food industry increased their production volume by 7.3% ascompared to 2017. Considerable growth has been observed in production of fresh or frozen bovine animals meat, milk, cannedvegetables, fermented milk products, butter, and high-fat cheese. In 2018 the sales volume of food industry has reached $ 174.4 million, which amounts to 15.9% of the general sales volume inthe region’s production sector.

HArch8Grain production in Rivne region exceeds its needs by 88%, eggs – by 36%, vegetables – by 31%, milk – by 23%, and potato – by 6%.Therefore, the issue of processing agri products and related development of food industry is highly topical for the region.It is planned to implement the НАССР system into all enterprises of food industry in the region during the period of 2017-2020.
